Paid Time Off:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Solution Architect – Finance will possess financial product knowledge and critical thinking for complex business requirements, bringing forward new technical ideas and an innovative use of functionalities and technology to provide business solutions. The IT Solution Architect – Finance will have both technical and functional expertise with Cognos, and will lead the requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, estimation, and deployment of solutions in line with organization change control board policies. The role also supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolution of errors for existing systems and supports new roll outs.
Work Schedule: This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing the IT Solution Architect – Finance to be based anywhere in the country.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improve and mature our IBM Cognos Cube through hands on development and managing our vendor development partners.
- Enable AMSURG to own our TM1 environment and the future design and development decisions rather than relying on a vendor and disparate teams to make decisions in silos.
- Assist our financial data governance and controls by documenting the full end-to-end process from source patient accounting systems through reporting output.
- Design and implement hierarchies, security, and common logic into the cube layer for consistent reporting regardless of medium (Cognos, Tableau, Excel files, etc.).
- Create and manage a Software Development Lifecycle for cube update requests to ensure they are appropriately approved, communicated, and tested before being released for mainstream production enterprise use.
- Perform requirement gathering, process mapping, analysis, solutions design, create documentation, and perform fit/gap analysis.
- Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management while adhering to appropriate standards (performance, monitor capability, audit acceptability, secure environment).
- Prepare and demonstrate architectural designs, timelines, and milestones with large complex projects and recommend solutions.
- Usage of appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Develop and maintain technical design plans and architectural blueprints for the assigned area.
- Support the strategic direction of technology investments, assisting in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximizing the ROI.
- Architecture support across the Development and Operations & Maintenance Teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams and business leaders., providing support and guidance for development and maintenance of the Hierarchies.
- Work on highly critical assignments with challenging timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
- Extensive hands-on, full life-cycle experience with Cognos Reporting Suite.
- Strong hands-on experience in Cognos 8.5, Cognos 10 and above.
- Extensive experience in Cognos Framework Manager.
- Extensive experience with Cognos Reporting Tools Suite; Report Studio, Cognos SDK.
- Strong SQL and MDX development skills.
- Extremely deep database and Cognos TM1 cube development experience:
- Structure of TM1 cube(s) and overall design, security, cube dimensional and measure concepts, hierarchy setup and general constructs, views, sets, created measures, etc.
- Strong abilities in requirements gathering, user interaction, and designing data models based on the requirements.
- Experience analyzing end user requirements, performing data analysis, and developing reporting specifications.
- Experience in Architectural design for BI Reporting using Cognos Analytics:
- Understanding of report distribution techniques with embedded security is a must.
- Experience using Cognos Planning analytics environment for reporting and cube design, including using Excel as a reporting integration tool for planning analytics.
- In-depth expertise with at least one of the leading RDBMS technologies, i.e., MS SQL, etc.
- Accounting and/or Finance experience.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar with 5+ years of related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience with Cognos.

Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings (and weekends on occasion). Must pass a background check and drug screen.
