Sonoco is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive business innovation and efficiency. We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Transformation Architect to join our dynamic team and lead our digital transformation initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing operations digital transformation strategies that align with business unit goals and objectives.

  • Utilize data analytics and machine learning to develop predictive maintenance strategies for OT equipment.

  • Lead the design and architecture of digital solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business unit resources, to identify and prioritize OT digital transformation opportunities.

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging manufacturing operations technologies such as AI, IoT, cloud computing, big data analytics, machine learning, and automation and controls into the organization's digital ecosystem.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the lifecycle of OT digital transformation projects.

  • Conduct assessments of current IT and OT infrastructure and processes to identify areas for improvement and modernization.

  • Utilize data analytics and machine learning to derive insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all digital transformation initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for digital architecture, including blueprints, roadmaps, and technical specifications.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance the organization's digital capabilities.

This is a remote position.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or relevant experience.

  • Proven experience as a Digital Transformation Architect with direct experience in manufacturing OT systems.

  • Strong understanding of digital technologies and their application in business transformation (IIoT, Industrial networking, OT tech).

  • Experience with cloud platforms and enterprise architecture frameworks.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and machine learning tools and techniques.

  • Understanding of UNS, and significant experience with aggregation of disparate data processes as related to manufacturing, SPC and ERP, etc.

  • Extensive experience with operational technology (OT) systems and industrial automation and controls.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Project management experience and the ability to lead and mentor technical teams.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Significant Ignition experience, including UDT’s, Vision and Perspective.

Compensation: 

The annual base salary range for this role is from $122,000 to $137,250, plus a annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
