Role Overview:

Leader of global benefit programs with accountability for design and administration. Manages the global benefits team involved in the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s benefits programs including vacation, holiday, time off, sick pay, unemployment, retirement plans, disability, flexible spending, service awards, group health/medical/dental coverage, vendor management, wellness and health education initiatives, and life insurance. Develops programs designed to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and any proposed changes. Ensures that programs are current with regard to trends, practices and costs. Serves as the primary point of contact for benefit advisors and negotiates coverage, services and costs with carriers and brokers. Interacts with others in areas, such as the finance, risk management or legal departments, to investigate innovative programs (e.g., self-insurance) to determine feasibility in terms of cost, risk to the company, and legal implications. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Role Overview:

Reporting into the VP of Total Rewards, the Head of Global Benefits will drive the design, implementation and on-going management of the company’s  progressive and differentiated global benefits offerings in 35+ countries, including healthcare, retirement plans, time off and leave management as well as wellbeing programs.  

This role requires a deep understanding of benefits regulations, best practices, and a strategic approach to delivering competitive and cost-effective benefit packages with the goal of attracting, engaging and retaining high performing and diverse talent.

This role is a key member of both the Total Reward leadership team as well as the global HR leadership team.

 

About the role:

  • Lead all facets of global employee benefits, including the strategic planning, design, implementation, regulatory compliance, communication, and administration of global programs for a multigenerational, multi-geographical and diverse workforce.

  • Develop and mentor a global team of Regional Benefits Partners to assume increased levels of responsibility and execution, including thorough understanding of company vision and priorities as well as personal ownership expectations and accountability.

  • Deliver innovative and sustainable benefit solutions that enable our talent strategy and align with business objectives, while driving operational excellence in the administration of benefit programs.

  • Manage and negotiate domestic and international vendor relationships including insurance brokerage and third-party administrators, and monitor their performance.

  • Lead individual country benchmarking assessments and analyze benefits data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, monitor costs and determine adjustments needed to remain competitive and optimize benefit value and delivery.  

  • Maintain knowledge of government regulations, program trends, and best practices among benchmark companies in the software and cybersecurity industry.

  • Stay well-informed of ongoing global legislation influencing benefits offerings and implications, and remain partnered closely with local HR Partners and other corporate functions to ensure benefit programs are compliant with all laws, regulations and policies.

  • Oversee US annual open enrollment process, NQDC plan enrollment process, and 401(K) plan, plus the renewal processes globally.

  • Direct project and system maintenance work with HRIS Workday team. 

  • Partner with finance, accounting, legal and tax to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, cost management and compliance with financial laws and regulations. 

  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on benefit plans performance and costs.

  • Remain in sync with the Total Rewards leader ensuring alignment with the company’s People strategy and financial goals.

  • Educate, inform and continuously increase employees’ understanding of benefit services and offerings with clear and culturally relevant communications and programs.

  • Support M&A due diligence efforts as needed.

  • Minimal domestic and international travel may be required.

About you:

  • Your background includes at least 10 years of benefits experience including global scope and M&A due diligence and integrations.

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.  Masters degree and/or advanced benefit certifications is a plus.

  • You have a servant leadership style of leading, coaching and developing a direct team of global specialists.  You are available and capable of managing a team in various time zones around the world.

  • You have a passion for customer service and taking care of people. You lead by example and have strong communication skills and the ability to balance company and employee needs.

  • You have expertise in design, development, implementation, and administration of all types of health, well-being and retirement programs, preferably at a software company of comparable quality, scale and complexity.

  • You have proficiency with Google and Microsoft applications and a strong aptitude for benefit administration systems with extensive experience in Workday.

  • You have a proven track record of managing benefit budgets and meeting deadlines.

  • You are an intrinsically motivated self-starter with a strategic mindset who will “own” any issues and persevere to find solutions.

  • You thrive on producing superior results when responsible for multiple and occasionally competing priorities.

  • You are energized by an everchanging environment, with the ability to pivot and adjust with speed and agility.

  • You communicate with candor and transparency with your team, leaders, partners, vendors and employees.

  • You have experience interacting professionally and independently at all levels and can effectively adjust your presentation style for your audience, including with senior management and executive leaders.

Base Pay Range: $150,000 – $275,000.  Actual base pay within this range will depend on varying circumstances, including the work location, individual qualifications, company budget and other operational business needs. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
