The Applications Specialist - QLD role for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing first line technical support, assisting in conducting product demonstrations, and performing installations and training for Leica products in clinical and life science laboratories.

The position is part of the Australian Sales and Applications team located in Brisbane and will be a remote role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Queensland Sales and Applications team and report to the Country Sales Manager who is responsible for the achieving the commercial growth goals of Leica Biosystems in Australia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting and training on Core Histology equipment, Digital Pathology Scanners and Advanced Staining Instrumentation.
  • Support pre and post sales processes to assist the sales team in achieving their targets
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent sales and support assistance.
  • Participate in industry conferences and trade shows
  • Work both autonomously and as part of a National Team

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Scientific degree (preferably Medical Laboratory Science / Anatomical Pathology).
  • Applications / Technical Support / Work experience in the Pathology and / or Life Science fields.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel – approx. 20% travel, overnight, within territory or National / International as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history and a Euro 5 Compliant Vehicle.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding the customer and market dynamics, especially regarding the development and introduction of new pathology trends and technologies, in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes with conflicting deadlines
