Sr. DevOps Engineer

Overview:

Intelligent Waves is searching for a talented Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA. In this role, you'll collaborate with a dynamic development team to create innovative software solutions for unconventional warfare clients, focusing on user-centric design. You'll partner with UI/UX designers to craft seamless user experiences using frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue, and work alongside back-end developers to build robust web services. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both frontend and backend development within a highly impactful environment. .

Travel: None

Location: Reston, VA (onsite). Will work as part of an overall team to provide needed coverage and support with some possible remote work capability according to mission schedules.  

Security Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and hold a current TS-SCI or TS with SCI eligibility security clearance.

As a Sr. DevOps Engineer on our team, you'll play a crucial role in translating customer requirements and future goals into innovative solutions that support a mission-critical defense IT system. Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming the way our defense client leverages technology, from integrating advanced solutions to modernizing legacy systems. As a technical leader, you'll shape the digital solutions landscape and identify new opportunities for capabilities that drive the mission forward.

Required:

• Experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
• 5+ years of experience building and supporting DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years of experience with containerization, building images and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes
• 2+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux and writing custom Helm charts
• 2+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
• Knowledge of container security technologies with experience evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings
• DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ Certification prior to starting on contract

Desired:

• Experience developing in Java or Python
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and/or ElasticSearch/Kibana and FluentD
• Experience with design, deployment, and management of Cloud environments, including AWS or Azure
• Experience with using or migrating continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline solutions or tools, including Jenkins, Git, or TeamCity
• Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
• Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby and leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
• Knowledge of cloud and virtualization-based technologies, including Docker, Azure, AWS, or VMware
• Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation
• Knowledge of foundational system administration principles
• Knowledge of and experience with classified environment processes and protocols
• Kubernetes certification
