Key Responsibilities
ECI is seeking an Attorney with corporate compliance expertise to join our legal team in Southfield, MI. This role will involve consulting with and providing legal, business and practical advice to our business units with an emphasis on corporate compliance. This individual will work to ensure that all our contractual compliance obligations are met, while tracking compliance within the organization, and monitoring changes in compliance regulation.
In this role, you will:
Draft, implement, and audit internal compliance policies and procedures
Collaborate with internal team members to develop compliance training on applicable laws and regulations
Stay current on new and existing laws and regulations, assessing potential impacts on the organization
Execute compliance risk assessments periodically and create and oversee improvement plans to mitigate risk appropriately in a tailored and prioritized manner
Participating in environmental, social, and governance issues
Draft, review, edit, and negotiate contracts across business units
Receive contract requests and conduct triage to ensure adherence to established business policies, processes, and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Doctor of Law (JD) required; must have admission to practice law in one or more U.S. jurisdictions
4-6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
Experience in end-to-end contract preparation, review, and execution
Experience with supply chain and/or corporate compliance
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to analyze information quickly and work as part of a team
Willingness to be transparent and comfortable with being held accountable
Be highly ethical
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong research and analytical skills
International compliance experience, particularly in Europe
Knowledge of laws/regulations applicable to manage risk in emerging markets, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Bribery Act, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, and data privacy
Familiarity with ITAR, and FAR/DFAR compliance requirements for sub-suppliers
Experience with implementing a corporate compliance framework
Experience with employment laws, rules and regulations
