Program Overview
Arch’s summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides a learning experience that serves as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field.
The program is designed with the following objectives:
Provide challenging work that benefits both the intern and Arch.
Develop interns through learning activities and ongoing feedback.
Identify talented individuals for full-time opportunities.
Qualifications
The standard qualifications of intern candidates are:
3.0 GPA.
Current college students actively enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
Team player who collaborates effectively.
Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Arch’s Global Economics team supports the risk, planning, and strategy for ACGL and the Arch Global Mortgage group. We provide timely and accurate insights to the Arch leadership team and are the go-to resource for insights on how the economy will impact our businesses. Accordingly, we identify and inform leadership about where risks are developing to enable appropriate business decisions and develop research on new market opportunities.
Workload includes: U.S. Weekly Economic Update; US & International Economic Updates to the Board; deal analysis for credit risk transfer (CRT) investments team; forecast the U.S., Euro area, U.K., and Australian economies and housing markets; design alternative economic scenarios; assess housing market overvaluation by geography; develop country risk scores to assess the risk of doing business in various economies.
Review and summarize economic data, support the economic forecasting and scenario design process, conduct ad-hoc research and empirical analysis.
Preferably pursuing graduate studies in economics / finance. Interest in economics with related coursework at a minimum.
