About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga

In this rapidly evolving and digitally enabled world, nib is continuously looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, optimise customer experiences and create sustainable growth. The Product Owner will lead the charge on this mission being responsible for the end-to-end delivery to support the customer and employee experience.

Using their extensive operational, process, and product expertise and knowledge of nib, the Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the product creates value, by taking into account the voice of the customer, and the employee experience with a view to achieving the defined targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own, define and maintain the product vision and product road map.

  • Articulate a clear product vision for the business unit team and champion this vision

  • Define key business KPIs and objectives with the Business Sponsor and ensure alignment between various projects

  • Own and prioritise the product backlog allowing the development team to ‘pull’ highest value requirements.

  • Lead product functionality discussions, working within agile squads liaising closely with the Delivery Leads and Business

  • Actively contribute to the backlog with user stories.

  • Identify the most important and impactful processes and systematically map them, identify pain points, and work to apply technology to automate and improve them while ensuring compliance, quality and cost effectiveness.

  • Implement regulatory and business requirements into workflows and processes. Ensure the regulatory compliance of all team operations.

  • Drive greater awareness and collaboration amongst the business through the coordination and involvement in a cross functional team model.

  • Deliver strong leadership in a cross-functional team that are critical to the delivery of the transformation program and effort.

  • Lead and deliver Programme Showcases

  • Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.

  • With the Delivery Leads and Programme Director, conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.

About you | Ko Wai Koe 

You are an experienced leader, able to work in a fast-paced environments, with the ability to apply an entrepreneurial mindset in assessing trade-offs, risk management, ROI, and adapting to changing needs of the business. You’re able to identify, manage and influence a range of stakeholders across the business, including senior leaders and project team members. You have strong reporting and forecasting ability and possess sound commercial acumen. You can derive business value from technical product features and your able to articulate and champion the product vision. You have a strong understanding of agile and scrum methodology.
