Job description

The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. Bicycle Health addresses this gap by maximizing accessibility, affordability, and overall quality of care by enabling highly qualified clinicians to reach patients broadly and efficiently through our online platform.

 
The Clinical Team Lead - Physician (Northeast) is a physician leadership position with both direct patient care and clinical administrative duties. The Clinical Team Lead - Physician is responsible for the direct management of all clinicians on the team, and for the performance of the team overall toward practice quality improvement goals and clinician employment experience. The Clinical Team Lead - Physician is licensed in good standing in all states within the assigned region and has demonstrated clinical leadership, program-building, and quality improvement experience in the field of addiction medicine with emphasis on treatment of opioid use disorder.

  • Valid license in home state 
  • Willing to obtain other licenses within the NE region prior to start date (IL, MI, MD, PA and other states as may be required) - at company expense

Target Pay Range: $172,500 + Bonus Eligible - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What you’ll Do:
  • All duties of a physician.
  • Directly manage assigned Advanced Practice Clinician reports. Management responsibility includes hiring, onboarding, reviewing documentation and performance data and providing feedback as needed, soliciting feedback and addressing identified needs to improve performance and satisfaction, conducting formal quarterly performance reviews, conducting performance improvement plans as may be necessary, and termination as necessary.
  • Ensure that all providers on the team are providing care that adheres to policies and procedures, and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and conduct team meetings with the goals of cascading practice information from the Regional Medical Director, aligning providers toward the mission of the organization and toward quality improvement goals, identifying provider needs and opportunities for improved support of our providers, and optimizing team collaboration.
  • Use analytics tools to monitor team and individual provider performance, and to inform performance interventions and monitor the progress of those interventions. Collaborate with the Regional Medical Director and analytics team to inform improvements in analytics tools.
  • Improve the performance of the team as a whole toward practice quality improvement goals.
  • Provide case consultation to Advanced Practice Clinicians, accept escalated cases as necessary, and obtain physician consultation and further escalate to physician care as necessary.
  • Provide backup on-call coverage when primary on-call may fail to respond.
  • Identify needed resources and support for the team, and bring these needs to the attention of the Regional Medical Director.
  • Oversee clinical team member productivity, and address productivity problems as needed which may include ensuring licensure and credentialing goals are met, time management goals are met, and attendance and availability expectations are met.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What you’ll Need:
  • MD or DO with at least 3 years of full-time addiction medicine practice experience or equivalent
  • Valid license to practice medicine & DEA license in your home state. Must obtain licenses in all states of the assigned region within 90 days of starting.
  • Must obtain independent practice status in all applicable states in the region within 180 days of starting.
  • Must have the ability to treat a panel of patients
  • Minimum 5 years post-training clinical experience in primary specialty preferred.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and supervising advanced practice clinicians; ability and willingness to expand this experience into providing administrative support and supervision to physicians and therapists.
  • Experience in quality improvement driving change management in a clinical setting; examples include synthesizing literature, designing clinical protocols, managing stakeholders, designing measures, data collection and evaluation.
  • Outstanding communication skills including public speaking, written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment focused on company-level goals.
  • Project leadership and management skills.
  • Track-record of producing outstanding publications, clinical study reports, and poster presentations preferred
  • A mindset to choose progress over perfection and get things done.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Consistent access to a private work environment with high speed internet and professionally appropriate surroundings for frequent video conferencing and a workstation setup conducive to remote work needs.
This is a part-time (30 hrs per week) remote position.
