Roles and Responsibilities:

Reporting into the Vice-President of Quality, the Senior Director of Quality Systems works proactively and collaboratively with key stakeholders (key stakeholders being Quality, Engineering, Regulatory, New Product Development and Supply Chain Manufacturing) to ensure our quality systems are robust, lean and compliant with all applicable regulations.

The Senior Director of Quality Systems will build, develop, and lead the team of quality professionals to operate the quality system at JUUL in a way that promotes a positive quality culture, continued compliance, and a stream-lined approach.

Key Job Duties:

  • Owner of the quality management system and key performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Promote and implement continuous improvement measures to ensure the quality system is lean and user-friendly, while maintaining compliance.
  • Assure conformance to regulations applicable to quality systems elements.
  • Mentor, coach, train and develop direct reports.
  • Operate as a quality leader within the quality group and outside the group. Represent quality is a positive way, lead by example, be accountable and operate with a high level of integrity.
  • Promote a positive quality culture, by working cooperatively with key stakeholders, providing excellent internal customer service and making decisions based on risk.  
  • Serve as a key member of the external audit team, by representing the quality management system in audits and working directly with regulators during inspections. 
  • Manage and assess standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality processes to analyze compliance, assess risks and revise as needed.
  • Integrate new regulations into the quality management system, by performing gap analyses, policy and procedure revisions and training of impacted employees.
  • Met all budgetary requirements and work jointly with the VP of Quality to assess resource needs of the Quality Department.
  • Present quality management system KPIs, initiatives and resources needs to senior management.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of quality experience in a regulated environment.
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Extensive quality management experience including all quality system elements, in a regulated environment.
  • Quality assurance experience in supporting manufacturing, ideally in a contracting manufacturing environment.
  • Internal and external audit experience.
  • Excellent technical writing skills. Able to prepare presentations and present in front of large groups.
  • Experience with integration and transition to an updated or new regulatory model.
  • Experience with international regulatory and quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to be creative, collaborative, gain consensus, and communicate effectively.
  • Strategic decision maker who demonstrates decision making that impacts the quality management system direction and can explain the rationale behind the choices and the positive outcomes.
  • Performance management leader and excellent at conflict resolution.
  • Collaborative leadership that demonstrated empowering direct reports and working cooperatively with key stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in science, technology or health related field required. Advanced degree is preferred.

Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
