Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
The Department of Counseling seeks qualified candidates to teach courses in School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, or Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. This part-time, pooled position is filled on an as-needed basis. Adjunct instructors are responsible for teaching courses, such as Counseling Skills, Residency, Practicum, Internship, and other departmental offerings.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities: - Instruction and Course Delivery
- Teach assigned online courses using effective and innovative pedagogical methods.
- Develop, organize, and deliver course content, including lectures, activities, and assignments, to achieve course objectives.
- Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Student Support and Communication
- Maintain effective and timely communication with students through email, discussion boards, and virtual office hours.
- Address student inquiries and provide academic support to facilitate success in the online environment.
- Department Collaboration and Administrative Tasks
- Maintain regular communication with course leads and department chairs to align with program goals.
- Participate in training sessions, departmental meetings, and other professional development activities as needed.

- Familiarity with accreditation standards relevant to counselor education programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely at a computer for extended periods.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a professional remote work environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Earned doctorate degree in Counselor Education from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated experience in online education.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Certified School Counselor.
- Demonstrated experience in online education.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience supervising practicum and internship students.
- Advanced proficiency with online learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).
- Evidence of innovative teaching strategies and curriculum development.
