The Position: 

The Vice President, Bleeding Disorders develops and implements the company’s bleeding disorders (BD) sales and market development strategies. Works with sales, patient access, reimbursement, operations, financial planning, and analysis (FP&A), payor relations, industry relations and marketing teams to develop and execute business plans and directs sales activities to ensure profit goals and objectives are achieved. Manages the development of company sales targets, strategies, and promotion of the company’s bleeding disorders and related services.  Responsibilities include: 

  • Identifies, plans, and executes short- and long-range strategies for BD sales initiatives. Helps develop and implement business plans to access, build and maintain business relationships with physicians, hemophilia treatment centers, health systems, payors, manufacturers, patients and other potential referral sources.
  • Works with regional sales leadership, operations and local/regional teams to develop company sales targets and objectives.
  • Monitors sales performance and implements changes in sales strategy as necessary. 
  • Develops and implements long and short-range sales strategies to ensure volume, revenue and margin goals/forecasts/objectives are met.
  • Assists payor relations teams for local, regional, and national payor activities and contract negotiations. Participates in creating, reviewing, and approving proposals, contract pricing and language with support from Finance, Reimbursement and Marketing, as appropriate.
  • Analyzes competitive market data and provides feedback to company leadership.
  • Participates in medication pipeline management activities and assists with strategic industry relationship direction for bleeding disorders and related conditions.
  • Works with cross-functional teams and manufacturer partners to ensure successful product launches and pull-through.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to develop collateral and promotional materials, coordination of trade show exhibits, and other marketing-related activities to support sales team needs.
  • Participates in the hiring of field BD sales staff in conjunction with the Regional Vice Presidents.
  • Leads the BD sales training and development activities for the organization.
  • Works with IT department to develop CRM tools and metrics for improved sales management and customer relationship tracking.
  • Assists with key strategic customer relationships where appropriate.
  • Works with Finance to manage ongoing sales compensation programs, including the evaluation of sales incentive/bonus plans and recommends changes as appropriate.
  • Creates a culture of sales success and inspires ongoing business and goal achievement.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to sales-related policies and procedures. Develops and maintains sales organizational structure to address business needs/objectives.
  • Completes all necessary managerial tasks for direct reports including hiring, training, addressing performance issues, developing team goals and objectives, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communication or related field 
  •  5-7+ years sales leadership experience in healthcare services preferably industry specific to bleeding disorders, including national sales and business development management.
