BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

As a Business Development Analyst at FMH, you will collect, analyze, document, and report both internal and external data on a regular and ad hoc basis to enable the organization to enhance operational decision-making, increase efficiencies, and drive profitable growth to enable America’s farmers to clothe, feed, and fuel the world.

REQUIREMENTS:


Experience:  Experience in developing and optimizing AI models with exposure to frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, along with an understanding of weights and bias in neural networks a plus. 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, MIS, or related quantitative field highly preferred (Associates degree required), along with one to three years of relevant experience in a similar role, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 

Skills: Strong research, writing, communication, statistical, mathematical, and analytical skills, with ability to structure and conduct analysis, a must. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially advanced skills and extensive usage of Excel (pivot tables, macros, and vba script). Must have working knowledge and proficiency in Python along with statistical tools such as SAS or R, Tableau or other similar tools.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Extracts, compiles, and performs analysis for operational data projects that help define appropriate solutions to meet business objectives spanning a variety of drivers including historical and current data, operational data to drive work, and assist in daily “staff action” decision-making.
  • Applies statistical data analysis techniques to a wide range of business issues.
  • Develops and delivers results through visualization such as reports and dashboards. Develops and modifies existing operations of Excel/Tableau dashboards.
  • Documents assumptions, methods, sources, and considerations to aid in education and validation.
  • Translates results into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations that support and enhance decision-making.
  • Provides data needs in support of business development activities utilizing internal and external data sources including data review for external Agricultural Services and ROI calculations for business development projects. 
  • Converts existing SaS workflows to python workflows, adjusting data sources as needed.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into business processes, including working with AI models focusing on weights and bias. Ensure model accuracy and efficiency through rigorous testing and validation.
