About The HJGT

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the HJGT. Currently the HJGT is the largest junior golf tour in the world hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour.

Position Overview

HJGT is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to lead the marketing strategy, sales initiatives, and promotional efforts for our new “Futures” Tournament. This role will be responsible for increasing tournament visibility, managing sponsorship relationships, boosting participant registrations, and driving overall tournament success. The ideal candidate is an innovative marketer and a goal-oriented sales professional with a strong understanding of the sports and event industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy Development
  • Design and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase tournament awareness, registrations, and engagement across multiple channels.
  • Collaborate with the HJGT team to develop branding, positioning, and messaging for the tournament, ensuring alignment with HJGT’s brand.
  • Sponsorship and Partnerships
  • Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities, building relationships with relevant brands and businesses.
  • Create partnership proposals and negotiate contracts to maximize revenue and exposure for the tournament.
  • Sales Management
  • Develop and implement sales campaigns focused on tournament registrations, VIP packages, and merchandise.
  • Track and analyze sales metrics, adjusting strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Content and Social Media
  • Oversee content creation, including social media posts, email marketing, press releases, and digital advertising, to drive interest and engagement.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure engaging visuals, copy, and timely updates across platforms.
  • Market Research and Competitor Analysis
  • Conduct research on competitor tournaments and industry trends to refine marketing strategies.
  • Identify target demographics and assess market conditions to inform decision-making and advertising campaigns.
  • Event Promotion and On-Site Activation
  • Develop pre-tournament hype and engagement strategies, including press events, influencer partnerships, and on-site promotions.
  • Coordinate on-site marketing activities, ensuring brand consistency and maximizing fan engagement.
  • Budget Management
  • Oversee and manage the marketing and sales budget for the tournament, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Track expenses and ROI, optimizing campaign strategies to meet financial goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales and marketing, ideally in sports, events, or tournaments.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns and sales initiatives.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in partnership building and sponsorship sales.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and CRM software.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for golf or experience in the sports industry is a plus.
