Job description

We are on the hunt for a highly motivated and results-driven Lead Technical Project Manager to join our fast-paced fintech startup. In this role, you will work closely with product management, engineering, design teams, and business leaders, ensuring projects are executed with precision and efficiency. You will own the project plans, manage task accountability, and drive deadlines across teams. You will also have the opportunity to create the project management framework from the ground up. If you’re passionate about fostering strong communication, improving team efficiency, building processes, and taking ownership of outcomes on a daily basis, we’d love to have you on board.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of multiple technical projects, from planning to delivery, working closely with product, engineering, design, and business teams.
  • Own and develop the framework and processes for project management at Allocate and set the stage for future team growth.
  • Develop and maintain clear project plans, setting expectations, deadlines, and milestones across all involved teams.
  • Support squads in meeting their commitments by identifying and addressing challenges early, coordinating resources, removing obstacles, and maintaining clear communication around timelines and scope
  • Drive effective communication across cross-functional teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed of progress and blockers.
  • Identify and resolve project roadblocks, implementing solutions to keep the project moving forward.
  • Champion efficiency improvements across teams by identifying process bottlenecks and implementing strategies to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure the team’s daily operations run smoothly, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Continuously improve Project management processes and tools to optimize team performance and Project delivery.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in managing complex software engineering projects, ideally in a fintech or high-growth startup environment.
  • A track record of taking ownership of project plans, driving accountability, and delivering results within strict timelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and project management best practices, with the ability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of a startup.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, balancing the needs and priorities of engineering, product, design, and business teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a sharp focus on task prioritization and driving deadlines.
  • A passion for improving team efficiency and process optimization to ensure the highest level of performance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) would be helpful.

Our Values & Culture:

  • Providing our clients with a world-class experience is our number one priority. We obsessively search for ways to improve the experience for our clients and partners. This requires extraordinary response times, proactivity, and ensuring that everything we do, from product strategy to offline communications, is a top-tier client experience.
  • Challenge convention: Instead of detailing why an idea may not work, we constantly question things to determine how a viable idea may be implemented.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement: We find ways to personally scale each day by pushing ourselves up the learning curve.
  • Meritocracy, not politics: We place the utmost value on results and rewards through merit, not reward actions driven by political agendas or behavior.
  • Civil Discourse is embraced: Open, intellectually curious conversations are required to make the best decisions. Respect is paramount in our dealings, but our mission is always to get the correct answer collectively.
