Job description

About the Role

This position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation.

We're looking for a curious, hands-on part-time assistant to join our Denmark desk in a supporting role for a specific time-limited project focussing on expanding attention to the sustainable economy and finance agenda. The assistant will perform the tasks under the guidance of the Senior Associate, Denmark Desk Lead.

If this sounds like you, we'd love for you to apply.

How you'll contribute

  • Working with the team to support the communications and project management needs of the GSCC in Denmark and more broadly in the Nordics;
  • Monitoring the news agenda and public debates on especially the new economy, sustainability and finance agenda;
  • Assisting with the production of regular updates and briefings that help build political, media and public attention to economic and financial agendas to support action on climate change at national and regional level;
  • Providing support in outreach tasks such as event planning and contact with partners and journalists;
  • Providing support in administrative tasks, such as agenda setting, note taking, maintaining libraries and databases.

Our ideal candidate

  • Has academic background or early professional experience in communication, political science, economics, or a similar field;
  • Is a fast-learner and a responsible self-starter comfortable with working in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment;
  • Is structured and outstanding at keeping an overview of project details, deadlines and other practicalities important for smooth running events and shows appreciation of the vital role of administrative tasks;
  • Is comfortable using tools such as Zoom, Slack and Google Workspace;
  • Is flexible, with the ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Danish and English, our working language; additional knowledge of Norwegian is an asset but not a requirement;
  • Has a genuine interest in and passion for addressing the climate crisis; additional interest in and knowledge of economic agendas or the financial system is an asset but not a requirement.

Why join us?

  • A position of 12 hours per week on average for 5 continuous months, based in Copenhagen;
  • Participation in a study trip to the UK in the spring of 2025;
  • The opportunity to learn more about the increasingly relevant agenda of sustainable economy and finance in the climate change space and to expand your network within our partner organisation and stakeholders.

A place to thrive!

We’re an international network that values genuine diversity. We know that tackling the climate emergency will need all of society and we want our network to be reflective of the richness of that society. We are looking for people who bring their best, most professional and effective selves to work. People who are respectful, kind and have a sense of fun. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Your ideas, perspectives, and lived experiences are key to how you go about your work. We encourage people from historically disadvantaged or underrepresented groups to apply.
