Job Description
Systems Administrator III's participate in the delivery of optimally performing software, hardware, and services. They perform system maintenance and provide operational support to various production processes, products, and services across the company through operating systems, servers, infrastructure, and/or storage monitoring and problem resolution when end user or client processes don’t meet performance expectations. System Administrator III's serve as an escalation point for the most complex issues and lead projects of a complex nature.
- Monitors the daily performance and capacity activity on servers and operating systems; serves as an escalation point for the most complex alerts.
- Researches and performs troubleshooting activities to triage of events and in a controlled manner; resolves complex system alerts and addresses issues on the most complex technologies.
- Provides direction, mentorship, and training to less experienced staff.
- Manages and executes tasks relating to maintenance, applications, processes, and deployment of the most complex, nature (e.g., virtual machine upgrades, etc.).
- Crafts, reviews, and validates content for standard operating procedures, RUNBOOK documentation, and knowledge share manuals.
- Performs back-up activities on environments owned by or maintained by CSI.
- Leads large projects and/or owns multiple project components housed within a larger-scaled project within team and with cross-functional teams; executes and leads others to execute required project tasks, providing technical direction to other project participants.
- Initiates upgrades and/or enhancements for assigned technologies.
- Researches, recommends, and leads the implementation of new technologies.
- Follows all compliance policies and ensures technology remains within compliance standards, maintaining functionality and security.
- Maintain high uptime performance of servers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Professional level position in described technology. A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of successful, hands-on work experience in relevant technical fields. Accredited university, college or trade school education or equivalent training in applicable technology.
