BASIC PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, Distribution (SMD), maximizes profitable sales growth of all WIKA Products through distributors and resellers at the local branch level. While this position does not own a territory it actively supports (and reinforces) a high-density hub of Distribution branches within and across territories managed by the DAM.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

  • Meets or exceeds annual sales objectives as established by SMD
  • Follows up on mutually agreed business plans with key distributors and resellers
  • Supports and increases distributor/reseller business through active engagement
  • Provides regular sales coverage to assigned accounts and identifies new opportunities for sales
  • Follows up with target account programs
  • Coordinates sales activities with the Distribution Account Manager (DAM) within assigned geographical region, as required
  • Provides quotation follow-up and feedback on open quotations to the team in a timely manner
  • Keeps CRM and opportunity pipeline up to date
  • Augments/alters travel schedule as necessary, to achieve optimum coverage and profitability in conjunction with his/her SMD
  • Establishes and conducts joint calls on target accounts
  • Provides training on new and existing products on a regular basis
  • Provides competitive feedback: prices, distribution, catalogs, products, etc.
  • Maintains flow of business information between SMD and Marketing/Customer Care Department Operates according to and within budget guidelines
  • Files monthly sales report, advance itinerary, and expense reports on a timely basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical field including Engineering and/or A.S in Business or Technical field
  • 3+ years industry/technical experience in sales
  • Ability to support up to 80% overnight travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and contact management or CRM software)
  • Excellent communication, writing, listening and presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
