Summary:

In this role, you will focus on improving providers’ financial, operational, and quality performance through establishment of clinically integrated value analysis governance structures that support effective decision making and management. At Vizient, we believe in a clinically integrated supply chain: that decisions about medical device use and evaluation should be led by service line physicians and clinicians, supported by clinical data and evidence.

As a Senior Consultant, you will manage individual work efforts and projects to deliver leading practice value analysis and clinically integrated governance programs which may include strategic recommendations, effective project management, performance improvements, and/or technical or operational consulting expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide projects/sponsors with developing and implementing value analysis governance processes (e.g. procedures, work effort, information). Recognized as an expert in value analysis.
  • Act as a resource to departments regarding the establishment of the most cost-effective approach to product/service need, price, utilization and ability to support quality patient care. Acts as project sponsor on value analysis investigations where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills to perform “what if” analysis and to address the numerous issues and scenarios involved in proposed programs and processes. Gathers, researches, analyzes, and presents in an objective, non-biased “third party” manner.
  • Lead teams and projects that contribute to the on-going improvement of work processes, procedures, systems, quality and customer service.
  • Develop and execute project plans that meet project schedule, budget and expected value.
  • Utilize project management methodology to guide work efforts.
  • Facilitate provider meetings and discussions, present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee mid to senior-level provider relationships and expectations.
  • Identify possible upsell opportunities and discuss opportunities to solidify partnerships with providers.
  • Outline a plan for developing or improving products / services / tools / methods in functional area of focus.
  • Leverage team members to participate in the creation of intellectual capital.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred; Nursing degree desired or  Master’s in Business Administration, Health Science, or related discipline.
  • 5 or more years’ relevant experience required.
  • Experience in value analysis within a complex healthcare environment or healthcare supply chain consulting experience required.
  • Experience working with value analysis teams pertaining to decision-making based on the total value of medical supplies is required.   
  • Proven management skills and business acumen, including program planning and development, project management, and performance and quality management.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to drive consensus.
  • Possess strong client-facing and group presentation skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to give presentations to physicians, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex business challenges.
  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.
