About the role
This is a Senior role designed to provide program leadership to deliver strategic technical solutions that address complex client issues in the Life Sciences industry. As a manager within the Migration team, you will be handling projects and programs with regards to migration implementation to achieve desired outcomes and ensure successful business growth and regulatory compliance. You will also seek new business opportunities to help BASE life science grow its presence within existing and new customers.
You will provide program/project management oversight for all customer implementations falling under the Migrations team’s scope.
You will lead project teams consisting of data engineers/scientists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, project management and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
As a Technical Manager for the Migration team your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring program status including milestones, risks, issues, budgets, etc.
- Acting as a delivery escalation point and proactively ensuring escalations are handled promptly with a clear action and communication plan.
- Providing executive level summaries for senior executives in BASE life science.
- Intervening, when necessary, to ensure costs, timelines and quality are on track.
- Developed plans and effort estimates for future project during sales process.
Delivering Projects:
- Lead a cross-functional team to deliver data driven projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our life science industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders in the life science industry to understand their data needs and translate them into technical specifications for the project team.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for the projects.
- Track and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between the project team, life science industry stakeholders, and other teams within BASE life science.
What makes you the best person for this job?
- 5+ years of experience as a technical project manager ideally within the life science industry or other regulated areas.
- Successful track record of managing technically complex projects such as software development, implementation of IT systems, data migrations, etc.
- Experience leading developers, data engineers and/or data scientists and delivering data driven projects.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies such as SAFe.
- Strong communication skills, both in writing, meetings and in presentations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A genuine interest in understanding the technical aspects of complex data-driven projects.
Additionally, the ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Experience with coding in Python, VBA, Java, R, SQL, C, or similar.
- Experience selling either projects or products to clients.
- Experience working with Veeva Vault.
