Job Summary

Exactus Energy is looking for a Junior Business Development Representative to work closely with our Client Solutions Team to develop new business. This role will include cold reach outs to clients and is suited for someone comfortable with a high volume of calls per day. The ability to work independently while coordinating with other team members in a consultative manner will be important in ensuring success in this role. Our ideal candidate is adaptive, has the ability to problem solve, and is able to grow with our company. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a dynamic and forward-thinking company in the renewable energy sector.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Enjoy a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Be comfortable discussing technical aspects of solar energy projects with clients, engineers, designers and site technicians (training to be provided)
  • Work efficiently and independently while also coordinating with other team members
  • Have a passion for the environment and fighting climate change


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively reach out to potential clients through cold calling and emails to introduce our services and establish rapport
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research and networking
  • Effectively correspond with clients and subcontractors to ensure timelines and objectives are met
  • Confirm engineering and design parameters specific to each clients needs can be met, and write proposals that encapsulate these details
  • Assist in the preparation of MSAs (Master Service Agreements), presentations and other sales materials
  • Ability to build rapport with solar clients and developers to drive sales retention and expansion
  • Deal effectively with incoming cold, warm and hot leads
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the business development team


Qualifications and Skills

  • GSuite: Gmail, Calendar, Gmass
  • Knowledge of project management and CRM softwares is considered an asset, but not required (Salesloft, Dynamics)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and problem-solving
  • Organizational skills with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and develop new skills


Salary range 45,000-50,000 base with competitive commission plan.
