This is a newly created position within the Investment division on an initial 10 month fixed term contract, to drive and maintain a robust overall governance framework and operating environment. We are looking for a governance consultant, policy writer and creator to drive the creation of governance frameworks and policies that will continue and improve our client offering.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with teams to identify key responsibilities and controls
- Supporting teams to draft new Policy content;
- Verifying that Policy content is consistent with regulatory obligations e.g. Senior Management Arrangements, Systems and (SYSC) and Collective Investment Schemes Source book (COLL)
- Coordinating with senior team members across Lines 1 and 2, as well as the Board, to sharpen and agree Policy content
- Helping to develop infrastructure to enforce Policy compliance
- Identifying and addressing gaps in the broader Policy framework.
- Using specialist knowledge to ensure that governance and regulatory standards, including delegations of authority, are clear, documented, accessible, and upheld.
- Using your specialist knowledge of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), ensure its impacts are comprehended and incorporated into our practices.
- Acting as a positive and inspiring influence across the division to implement strong processes and work with colleagues and senior leadership to embrace the principles of good governance.
- Supporting the continued growth and footprint of the Business Management team by partnering and integrating with the Investment Division
- Planning and leading special projects related to governance and regulation, which may include company-wide projects with a high degree of visibility and impact
- Sharing knowledge and collaborating with our external partners, staying abreast of governance and regulatory developments that may impact the division
Special Requirements:
- Expert policy writing experience within the Finance, Investment, and/or Asset Management Industry
- Demonstrable experience of working in governance across a breath of areas, I.E. investments, products, and operations
- Proven experience and knowledge within a governance, compliance or regulatory role
- A strong understanding of core principles of what good governance looks like
- Working specifically within Finance Conduct Authority (FCA) rules will hold a considerable advantage
