Unreal Engine Artist for New Earth Science YouTube Channel

Are you passionate about storytelling through visual media? Join us at Astrum-Earth, a new sister channel to Astrum, one of the largest astronomy channels on YouTube with over 2 million subscribers. While Astrum captivates audiences with educational and high-quality content about space, Astrum-Earth will focus on Earth-related disciplines, including geology, biology, oceanography, climate, atmospheric phenomena and more.

We are currently looking for a talented Unreal Engine Artist to help bring our ideas to life and enhance our storytelling through dynamic visuals and captivating animations. These will play a crucial role in enhancing our viewers’ understanding and engagement of complex subjects.

This is a freelance role, but has the potential to later convert to a full-time role.

• Collaborate with the scriptwriter and content team to conceptualize and visualize animations that simplify and effectively communicate complex scientific concepts.


• Produce high-quality 3D content in Unreal Engine that aligns with the visual style and tone of our YouTube channel.


• Transform abstract scientific ideas and theories into compelling and informative visual content through creative brainstorming and detailed briefs.


• Ensure the accurate representation of scientific data and concepts, maintaining the integrity of educational standards.


• Work closely with the video editing team to integrate 3D models and animations seamlessly into the video, elevating the overall viewer experience.


• Contribute creative insights and suggestions to enhance the visual storytelling and educational impact of each project.


• Adhere to brand guidelines to ensure consistency in style and tone across all content.

• A portfolio demonstrating your ability to visually communicate complex ideas.


• Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, with experience in creating immersive 3D environments and animations.


• Solid 3D modeling skills, including the ability to process and manipulate data (such as topographic or stereoscopic data) into accurate 3D models.


• Knowledge of 2D graphics and animation software (such as After Effects or Blender) to create supporting 2D assets and animations when needed.


• Flexibility and creativity to adapt to a range of visual styles and storytelling techniques across different projects.


• A genuine passion for Earth sciences and education, with a desire to create engaging and informative content for our audience.


• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality, polished work that meets deadlines.


• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a creative team.
