HOW A JAVA DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Researches, designs, develops, tests, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
• Analyzes user/business software system requirements and determines needs.
• Determine the functionality of an application and perform upgrades over time.
• Maintains documentation to support software development policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assist the team with the preparation of cost estimates.
• Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
• Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
• Analyzes user/business software system requirements and determines needs.
• Determine the functionality of an application and perform upgrades over time.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in area of expertise.
• Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; OR in lieu of degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required

Required Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with application development

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Skilled in Java, Eclipse, GitHub, Struts, and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks
• Experience with HTML(HTML5), CSS, JavaScript, JSON, PL SQL, Eclipse, GitHub and Spring frameworks
• Experience with application testing processes and testing environments
• Demonstrated experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
• Experience with Agile Methodologies
• Experience of SDLC practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments

Security Clearance Level:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
• This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $68,784 - $93,060. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
