About the role:

To lead Macmillan’s thought leadership and bring together evidence and lived experience from Macmillan partnerships and services to catalyse the adoption of innovation, the scaling of what works and deliver national system change for people with cancer, particularly the most marginalised groups.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead Macmillan's national system analysis and thought leadership by bringing together research, insight, evidence and lived experience from Macmillan partnerships and services, to shape solutions for national system-change.
  • Build Macmillan’s capability in problem analysis, system analysis, ‘what works’ evidence, systems thinking and theory of change strategies to deliver national system change.
  • Working with teams across Macmillan, identify priorities for national system change and work and convene the right capabilities across the organisation to shape evidence-led solutions, based on a clear understanding of ‘what works.’
  • Build capability in the national scaling of innovative practice and the national adoption of evidence-led interventions that deliver impact for people with cancer.

About you:

  • Demonstrable experience in the design and application of systems thinking, understanding the interconnections within the national healthcare system and the solutions necessary to address problems in that context.
  • A strong record in theory of change planning and designing strategies to deliver national system change, including convening multi-disciplinary teams, and facilitating workshops to co-create the theories of change.
  • Experience in delivering different components of national system change planning and delivery including outcome mapping, root cause analysis, data interpretation, gap analysis, proposition development, impact analysis and evaluation.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how to operate and achieve impact in a four-nations environment, working in different political and policy contexts.
  • A track record of successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams and matrix leadership of significant organisational initiatives.
