As a Senior Cloud Software Applications Engineer, you are a member of a cross-functional agile engineering team that analyzes, designs, codes, tests and delivers software features that are hosted in cloud. A Senior Cloud Software Applications Engineer has enough experience to collaborate with business partners and stakeholders about the business needs and processes with the ability to transform those discussions into design and ultimately code. Able to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that is scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Outcomes and Activities:
- This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
- Develop software applications that are hosted in the cloud to develop and deploy applications. Contribute to team's sprint goal by test driving complex code. Apply team coding, documenting and testing standards and drive continued improvements. Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify impact of a change across multiple systems. Independently solves various problems and rectify complicated problems through the application of design patterns.
- Design and architect cloud-based applications to ensure that they are scalable, reliable, and efficient. They will use cloud technologies such as APIs, Connectors to build applications. Design, code, test, and deliver insightful and architecturally sound business solutions around high complexity work. Actively participates in engineer COE discussions towards continuous improvement of design and code quality. Advocate best design principles and patterns within the team. Improve application and team processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software applications. Learn the business process domain to better support the business. Increase application domain knowledge through functional testing. Communicate application changes clearly, concisely, and objectively, both verbally and in writing
- Be responsible for troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise with cloud-based applications. Use tools such as log analysis, debugging tools, and monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues. Decrease incidents and increase up-time by developing quality code and testing. Revises code to make it more efficient and be able to detect bugs in the code.
- Automate processes such as testing, deployment, and infrastructure management using tools such as Jenkins, ServiceNow, or Robot Framework etc., Experiment and test ideas, validate assumptions against needs, reach conclusion and recommend solutions.
- Ensure that cloud-based applications are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2 by collaborating with internal security teams
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and trends to ensure that the software applications they develop are using the most current and efficient practices.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members, including junior engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams such as product managers and designers. Mentor less experienced engineers. Performs regular reviews on code written by less experienced engineers.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent work experience
- ServiceNow; UI/portal building from a customer application building (Jscript, server side, client side scripting).
- Knowledge in discovery patterns (ServiceNow)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development and engineering, with at least 3 years of experience developing cloud-based applications.
- Practical expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices, including software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2, and experience in designing and implementing secure and compliant cloud-based applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mentor and lead other engineers in the development of cloud-based applications.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Preferred:
- Minimum 3 years (of total) experience as an engineer embedded in team in an agile and cloud delivery environment.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, specifically using GitHub
- Experience in designing and architecting scalable and reliable cloud-based applications.
- In-depth usage and creation of API libraries and custom frameworks to optimize and automate the program’s functionality.
- Experience with JSON, AJAX, SOA, Rest/SOAP based Web Services, JUnit, Jenkins and Bitbucket
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins, ServiceNow etc.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices, including software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
- Hands-on knowledge of multiple programming languages, as well as the foundations of how languages work

Target Compensation: A competitive base salary range from $104,583 - $153,388. This position is eligible for an annual variable cash bonus, between 7.5% - 15%. Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education and certifications, and geographic location.
Candidates who reside in the following major metropolitan areas may be eligible for a premium on top of the posted range based on their specific zone: San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego.
