Job description

Business Development Representative Job Summary

Our client, a leader in the marine propulsion industry, seeks a Business Development Representative to identify new customers and drive growth within the organization. The emphasis of the role is to identify new prospective clients and re-establish relationships with former customers utilizing data, market insights, and sales strategies. The position can reside along the US Gulf Coast, Florida, or Washington state and will be hybrid remote with up to 50% travel. Candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders.

Business Development Representative Responsibilities

  • Leverage internal data sources such as website inquiries, service work reports, and historical data and utilize external sources such as social media platforms, networking, cold calling, and market research to identify potential customers.
  • Grow and maintain existing customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. Revive previous customer relationships through targeted engagement strategies.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to derive insights and make informed decisions. Provide recommendations for improving sales strategies and customer engagement.
  • Guide customers through the transition from initial inquiries to quotations, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer profiles and information, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of customer preferences and requirements (Customer 360 approach).
  • Conduct technical analysis of customer requests and collaborate with Parts and Service Sales Representatives to provide accurate information and support as needed.

Business Development Representative Position Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in the marine industry with engines and propulsion systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a Sales or Business Development role.
