Sr. Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our
Stop Loss Product team!
About The Role
In this role, you will help drive stop loss product business growth through strategic insights, data analysis, and a deep understanding of competitive dynamics. You will continuously research, analyze, and summarize the competitive landscape of the employer stop loss market, including Symetra's products. Your gathered intelligence will empower the Stop Loss team with actionable insights on competitive trends and future scenarios that will inform strategic decisions.
What You Will Do
- Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and market developments to gather and synthesize competitive intelligence.
- Develop detailed competitive analysis reports that highlight competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Create clear, compelling presentations and executive-level reports for leadership on the competitive landscape, sales performance, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide actionable insights to sales, marketing, and product teams to inform positioning, pricing, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the sales organization has the most up-to-date and relevant competitive information.
- Conduct regular assessments of competitor products, services, and value propositions to provide a competitive edge.
- Build and maintain a database of key market and competitor data for easy access by sales and strategic teams (e.g., product rates & features, sales strategies, market position, commissions) and trends.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to align strategies and ensure cohesive execution of business objectives.
- Partner with Actuarial to analyze financial data and build financial and risk models to support product management, product development, and positioning.
- Serve on cross-functional project teams and work with other internal departments on initiatives that leverage competitive product data.
- Work in partnership with Product, Actuarial, Sales, Marketing, IT, and Business Analysts to collect data from research providers, customers, agents/advisors, distributors, and wholesalers.

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 - $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who You Are
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in stop loss products and/or marketing, sales operations, competitive intelligence or other related field required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
- Highly curious and creative with adept research and investigation skills.
- Strong background in analyzing sales data, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Familiarity with market research tools preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships within the stop loss industry.
- Some minimal travel required.
