Institutional Research Analyst
The target hiring range for this position is $85,000-92,500.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Research Analyst to join our team, specializing in producing high-quality data for both peer-reviewed publications and institutional effectiveness reporting. This dual-focused role involves collecting, analyzing, and verifying data to support impactful research as well as initiatives that enhance institutional decision-making and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative analysis and data management, ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, and meets the rigorous standards required for academic publications and institutional reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from internal and external sources to support both peer-reviewed research projects and institutional performance metrics. Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used for academic and institutional purposes.
- Statistical Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth statistical analyses to support peer-reviewed publications, including regression models, hypothesis testing, and other advanced techniques. Generate insightful reports and visualizations that inform institutional effectiveness, benchmarking, and strategic decision-making processes.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with researchers, faculty, and administrators to understand data needs for both academic and institutional objectives. Align data production with the goals of peer-reviewed research as well as with the metrics required for accreditation, compliance, and performance evaluation.
- Documentation & Methodology: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, methodologies, and analytical procedures to ensure transparency and reproducibility, supporting the standards for peer-reviewed research and institutional reporting. Provide clear and accessible descriptions of data and findings for publication and reporting, adapting outputs to meet the needs of different audiences.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure data integrity and compliance with data governance standards, institutional policies, and privacy regulations. Monitor and maintain adherence to ethical standards and protocols in both research and institutional reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with best practices in data analysis, statistical methods, and data governance, proactively identifying ways to improve data processes for research and institutional effectiveness.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in data analysis, research, or institutional effectiveness roles, with a focus on producing data for academic publications and/or institutional reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools such as R, Python, or SPSS. Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma. Knowledge of database management and query languages, particularly SQL.
