This position reports onsite at VCU Health's downtown campus in Richmond, VA and will support the Virtual Care Institute. The Business Analyst will focus on data infrastructure, analytics, financial modeling, volume projections and strategic integration while also remaining up to date on the ever-changing reimbursement guidelines for virtual care. We are seeking a new team member who is experienced in business operations, preferably in the healthcare setting.
The Business Analyst for the Virtual Care Institute will provide insight-driven, clinical, operational and financial analyses to enhance and inform decision-making across the enterprise and to assess the impact of virtual care delivery. Primary responsibilities include healthcare analytics in which the candidate will distill insight from analysis, scorecard & dashboard development in partnership with Enterprise Analytics with a focus on effective data visualization, project management for key initiatives and communication with various stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about transforming healthcare systems and delivery and will demonstrate a curiosity to understand virtual care's impact on patients and providers as well as learners and researchers. Self-directed, providing insightful analytics and synthesis with working knowledge of data governance stewardship.

The Business Analyst is expected to use concise and effective written communication, develop effective slides and contribute valuable well-timed comments in team meetings.
The Business Analyst will bring a specific skill set to the Virtual Care Institute that will complement the rest of the team by focusing on data infrastructure, analytics, financial modeling, volume projections and strategic integration while also remaining up to date on the ever-changing reimbursement guidelines for virtual care.
The Business Analyst provides analysis and business support that may include work in any combination of the following: business and decision analytics, financial planning and management, budget, procurement, general business operations, facilities management, staff supervision, performance improvement initiatives, and/or information technology coordination in collaboration with administration, nursing, and/or medical staff.
The Business Analyst assists with identifying issues related to existing programs and recommending effective, timely solutions.
The Business Analyst assists in ensuring compliance with applicable governmental rules and regulations. This job may provide ad hoc data analysis, reports and dashboards to be used by senior management for decision-making purposes.

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of four (4) years in Finance, IT, Human Resources, Benefits, or Accounting.
Experience in data/information analysis, with financial and critical thinking skills.
Previous experience with compensation, payroll, benefits, insurance, contracts, business administration, process improvement, data analytics, and/or regulation compliance.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience with spreadsheets, databases, and report-writing software.
Experience PREFERRED:
Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably an academic medical center or physician practice.
Compensation experience.
Previous supervisory work experience.
Project management experience.
Previous experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferably Cerner.
Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Education/training PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, Human Resources, or other job-related field from an accredited program.

Business Analyst will provide analytical and business support to the Virtual Care Institute including collaborative oversight of data analytics and data integrity for VCI reporting and financial analysis, business case development and business planning for integration of new technologies. Analyst will also remain up to date on reimbursement trends for virtual care and make recommendations for improvement initiatives and new initiatives based upon reimbursement trends. Analyst will support leadership in gathering, analyzing and synthesizing data to drive strategic development and prioritization within the Institute and perform other functions as necessary to support the business operations and development of the Virtual Care Institute.
