The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties on an administrative and clerical level and works closely with the HR Director in supporting various employee programs within the Company.  


Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Maintains employee files, including scanning and filing documents 
  • Sorts the mail for HR
  • Assists with the hiring process, including submitting job postings online 
  • Schedules phone screens and interviews
  • Proofreads documents 
  • Reviews insurance bills for accuracy
  • Completes verifications of employment 
  • Provides answers to DES for unemployment cases and wage audits
  • Assists in the administration of various human resources programs, including: 401(k), benefits, training, recruiting, employee relations, performance reviews, and compensation 
  • Assists with employee appreciation events and programs, including reserving rooms, setting up and taking down tables and chairs, and coordinating with the IT Department
  • Covers the Bestway front desk as a backup, when needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Previous HR experience is a plus
