About The Role

This role is accountable for developing and executing an internal communications strategy to effectively convey Giant Tiger's operational goals to Franchise Partners. It involves measuring the impact of communications, using feedback and data to improve outcomes, and fostering strong written, organizational, and interpersonal skills within the Franchise support team. The position also requires simplifying complex operational concepts to ensure clear and consistent understanding across the store network.

Workplace Arrangements

This role will follow a hybrid (remote/onsite) schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 2-3 days a week for an 8-5 schedule.

What You'll be Doing
  • Lead the implementation of an internal communications strategy (including tactics, activities and materials) that brings to life Giant Tiger's operational strategies to our Franchise Partners.

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of operational franchise internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis

  • Provide guidance and best advice to establish excellent written, organizational, and interpersonal skills within our Franchise support function to embed core capabilities within the department.

  • Distill complex ideas and strategies from Franchise Operations in ways that are approachable and manageable amongst all audiences, ensuring a deep and consistent understanding of our business strategies amongst our Store network.

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5+ years in store experience at a supervisory level. 

  • University degree or college diploma in Communications or PR.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Dynamic and creative individual who is a self starter.

  • Proficient in Microsoft, excel, power point and adobe. 

  • Ability to lead others and influence change.

  • Experience in media and content creation.

Assets You May Have
  • Bilingual

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools is a plus ​
