Under direction of the Sr. Director, Business Communications, the Manager, Business Communications is responsible for managing strategy, planning and execution for all communications related to the interpretation and successful completion of annual and long-term goals for a select group of Commercial and Business Group teams.  This includes, but is not limited to: operations, customer, internal and leadership communications initiatives and activities related to the commercial teams they support.

Job Description

  • Serves as a strategic communications advisor/lead for members of the Business Group Leadership Team – supporting multiple senior-level leaders.
  • Interprets the Cencora strategy to create messaging that is cascaded throughout the segment/function teams, incorporated into presentations and other communications in support of the successful completion of commercial objectives.
  • Responsible for executing segment/BU-level customer and internal messaging, change management activities and strategic initiatives.
  • In partnership with the Senior Director, Business Communications, develops annual and long-term group communications strategy in collaboration with enterprise and business communications goals.
  • Develop and create effective copy and material for a variety of distribution sources (intranet, executive communications, digital/social media, newsletters, etc.) to drive enablement and engagement in support of organisational goals
  • Assist in the development and creation of a communications dashboard to be delivered every quarter
  • Establish internal communications processes and serve as a subject matter expert and central contact for internal communications ensuring standards and consistency of voice, appropriate to target audience.
  • Works cross functionally with various teams to provide communications guidance for key projects and initiatives that will ensure the successful completion of short and long-term commercial goals.
  • Serves as a communications advisor on solution development, events and programs, often serving as a member of special project teams or their steering committees.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, communications, marketing, strategy or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree Program. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working experience in geographically dispersed multinational businesses
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Some experience in organizational change and mergers & acquisitions communications is an asset
  • Tactical agility and consultative approach to problem solving with a bias toward delivery and results
  • Ability to execute as an individual contributor with limited oversight and additional resources. 
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior level executives
  • Must be highly resourceful, self-motivated, and adaptive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous detail orientation, with excellent follow through and follow up
  • Skilled in editorial planning, content management, digital asset management and development
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Strong creativity
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and SharePoint
