Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer and collaborating closely with the Conflicts & Compliance Attorney, the Professional Responsibility Committee, and the Finance Team, the Conflicts & Intake Manager is responsible for overseeing the conflicts management process, supervising the Conflicts & Intake team, ensuring the efficient resolution of matters involving conflicts of interest, and working to onboard new clients and matters expeditiously. This role involves managing conflicts checks, compliance, the intake (business acceptance) process, and other assigned projects. It also involves leading and supervising a team of conflicts and intake analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of conflicts and intake, ensuring that conflict checks and onboarding for new clients or matters are handled efficiently and correctly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for conflicts and intake, handling both administrative matters and complex conflict issues.
- Review and update firm policies, processes, and procedures related to conflicts and intake, working closely with the Conflicts & Compliance Attorney to ensure our practices are aligned with industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Conflicts & Compliance Attorney and others as needed to ensure all matters and issues – routine and urgent – are handled efficiently and expeditiously in line with firm policies and procedures, and we maintain a unified approach to long-term projects.
- Supervise and support the clearance process for security trades and new hires.
- Working with the Conflicts & Compliance Attorney, identify the need for waivers and ethical walls to screen individuals from particular clients and matters, and assist in managing and maintaining the Firm’s screening processes.
- Review and analyze conflict of interest reports, identifying potential conflicts and assisting in resolution.
- Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and supervise the conflicts team, ensuring effective performance, coverage, and adherence to protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the conflicts and other relevant databases and ensure comprehensive recordkeeping.
- Assist with special projects including new technology implementation and adoption as directed by the COO or the Professional Responsibility Committee.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree, minimum of 6 years of conflict management experience in a large law firm or professional service organization, and at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role are required.
- Deep understanding of industry best practices and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated experience with conflicts and intake software. Experience with Intapp is a plus.
- Strong research and analysis skills related to conflicts and related compliance.
- Proven track record in managing conflicts of interest and the law firm intake process, with experience managing process improvements, workflow automations and system enhancements.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently but within a team environment and make decisions with limited direction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and various document management tools.
- Ability to build rapport with attorneys and staff.
- Integrity and professionalism with a commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Must have and maintain internet access and ability to work remotely after hours as needed.

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually (the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our NY office location only.
