Position Overview

The Palo Alto Engineer will be skilled, detail oriented, and responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Palo Alto Networks' next-generation firewalls and related security solutions. This role involves working closely with the IT team to implement security policies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the organization’s network security infrastructure is robust and effective.

Job Responsibilities:

Firewall Management

Configure, deploy, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security appliances. Maintain firewall policies, rules, and updates to align with organizational requirements and industry best practices.

Network Security:

Design and implement network security architecture based on business needs. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure systems are protected against potential threats.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Monitor network traffic using Palo Alto tools to identify and resolve anomalies or malicious activity. Investigate and resolve firewall and security-related issues promptly.

Policy Development:

Develop and enforce firewall rules, URL filtering, VPN policies, and intrusion prevention configuration. Maintain and update security policies to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Collaboration: W

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, and Security Operations, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of security solutions. Provide support and guidance to other IT staff regarding firewall and security best practices.

Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, policies, and procedures. Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.

Experience:

Must have 5 years of experience in network security, with a focus on Palo Alto Networks products.

Certifications:

Palo Alto certifications, such as PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator) or PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer), are strongly preferred.
