Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: 20 hours per week; Monday to Friday; Flexible between 7am to 4pm Canberra, Australia time; 4 hours per day

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented Part-Time Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll help bring Codex Communications' ideas and strategies to life through compelling visual design. You’ll collaborate with our team to create engaging content for our clients and internal projects, ensuring all designs align with our brand and messaging goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop visually engaging web pages and other digital interfaces that align with Codex Communications' brand and client goals.
Create original logos and branding assets for internal and client projects.
Design dynamic social media assets, including static posts, animations, and templates for various platforms.
Edit and produce video content for promotional materials, client campaigns, and social media.
Collaborate with the team to design materials for client campaigns, such as brochures, whitepapers, and event branding.
Ensure all designs maintain a cohesive look and feel across print, digital, and motion mediums.
Stay updated on design trends and tools to incorporate innovative ideas into projects.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as a designer (freelance or in-house) with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
Proficiency in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Figma.
Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design principles.
Experience creating both print and digital assets.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret creative briefs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with corporate or government-focused clients.
Motion graphics or video editing skills (optional but a plus).
Familiarity with brand strategy and storytelling.
