Job Overview

This role is responsible for analysing functional requirements, developing and executing comprehensive test plans, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to identify, track, and resolve issues. Key responsibilities include API testing, web UI automation using tools like Selenium, and coding in C# with Visual Studio. Familiarity with BDD practices and automation using Specflow is essential. ISTQB certification or equivalent is required.

Key Duties

  • Develop and Implement Automated Tests: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to validate software functionality and performance across various platforms and environments.
  • Requirements Analysis and Test Case Design: Develop comprehensive test plans and effective test cases to ensure the quality and functionality of software products. 
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand product requirements and ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the software development process.
  • Identify and Report Bugs: Proactively identify, document, and track software defects, working with developers to ensure timely resolution and improvements.
  • Maintain Test Environments: Configure and manage test environments, ensuring consistency across test runs and providing feedback on areas of improvement in test automation.
  • Enhance Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, reducing manual intervention and speeding up software delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience in test automation for enterprise systems, including developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with web UI automation tools such as Selenium, coding in C# with Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with BDD practices and test automation using SpecFlow.
  • API testing experience using industry-standard tools.
  • Strong background in ASP.NET / .NET Core / VB.NET / C# development (Visual Studio 2008–2019).
  • Proficient in SQL Server (2008+), with expertise in stored procedures, triggers, and data manipulation using XML, XSLT, and JSON formats.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and MVC/WebForms for cross-browser testing.
  • Experience with IIS configuration and unit testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in integrating test automation workflows with version control systems such as Azure DevOps, Git, or SVN.
  • Experience collaborating closely with development teams to identify, track, and resolve defects effectively.
  • Exposure to CMS platforms, with practical experience using Umbraco .NET CMS considered a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with a track record of proactively identifying opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Expertise in feature definition, design analysis, feasibility assessment, and accurate estimation of effort for test automation tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements or priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently and autonomously under minimal supervision.
  • ISTQB Certified or equivalent certification is required.
  • Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical contributor in a full-stack or enterprise environment.
  • Strong flexibility to manage unexpected changes in workload, assignments, or design revisions mid-project.
