Job description

We are looking for an experienced Server Engineer to work on a project with one of our premier clients. This role focuses on managing Microsoft Exchange environments and Proofpoint solutions to enhance server and email security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server management, cybersecurity, and email protection systems.   We expect this project to take 18 to 24 months.  

Rate Range: $65-$75/HR
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related fields, or 5-10 years of experience IT support
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in server engineering.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint administration.  
  • Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and email security protocols (SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF).
  • Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation.
  • Certifications like Proofpoint Certified Security Professional, MCSE, CISSP, M365, Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Prior experience working with Proofpoint and Exchange.  Especially work with E-mail forward of 365 e-mail accounts. 
  • CES/IronPort operational experience. Understanding the how to modify whitelists, listeners, routing, and address translation rules.
  • Exchange Online. Understand EoL mailbox addressing, troubleshooting, defender, transport rules, and Entra (Azure AD)
  • Notes email routing. Understand how email is routed through Lotus Notes.
  • SMTP routing and configuration. Understand message tracing, email headers, end to end email testing, and reading SMTP logs.
  • Documentation skill. Be skilled at creating documentation for procedures and configurations.
  • 2+ year of implementation experience in Exchange and Active Directory environments
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD / Azure AD Connect, ADFS, and Microsoft cloud identity management technologies
  • Other MS certifications
  • Aid in the analysis, design, testing, and support activities for technical solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

This role will have the following responsibilities:
 
  • Manage migration of resources on Office 365, including email, security, and SharePoint sites and workflows.
  • Administer and manage Proofpoint solutions including Email Protection, Targeted Attack Protection, and related modules.
    Manage resources in Azure and AWS.
  • Carry out IT projects, interacting with staff and consultants as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide limited support to end-users on Office 365-related technologies.
  • Create and maintain documentation on the organization’s systems and procedures.
  • Execute, manage and lead administration of Proofpoint thru the Onboarding technical and support process.
  • Support and resolve deployment issues.
  • Analyze, develop and communicate key Onboarding process and technology improvement feedback for Proofpoint Onboarding and entire deployment cycle.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of the service, and all required tools and products
  • Place outbound calls to provide guidance on planning and enabling Office 365 services.
  • Support implementation of Active Directory Synchronization (AAD Connect), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
  • Guide and walk through Active Directory remediation requirements
  • Guide and walk through Networking and Security requirements as applicable
  • Ensure the highest customer satisfaction with the Proofpoint Program
  • Align business requirements with technology and be able to identify out of scope items
  • Work with respective teams to address out of scope items in proper manner
  • Be recognized as a Proofpoint Engineering leader and customer advocate.
