We are looking for a Systems Analyst to support our client based in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Opportunity

Our client, a Government agency in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Senior Systems IT Analyst to join the OIT Department in a crucial role in documenting critical business processes, analyzing current business functions for efficiency opportunities, assisting in process redesign, development, and testing. In this role, you will focus on analyzing financial systems, supporting process re-engineering initiatives, and providing technical expertise for complex financial business processes. The ideal candidate will lead application development projects, ensure robust quality assurance, and drive efficiency in system operations.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and optimize financial systems and dependent business processes.
  • Document critical business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead development, maintenance, and enhancements for financial applications, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Oversee and support testing processes, from inception to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align systems with organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on trends and advancements in development technologies.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $130,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful Senior Systems IT Analyst has the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum 7+ years as a lead developer or development manager.
  • 5+ years of experience in development technologies like CA Gen, COBOL, DB2, or similar relational databases.
  • Knowledge of web server and batch procedures, Active Server Pages, and Visual Studio/.NET is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Expertise in CA Gen workstation toolsets.
  • Strong skills in SQL, COBOL, JCL, and relational database systems (DB2, Oracle).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with methodologies and frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall.

Location
  • Work is primarily remote for non-Tallahassee residents, with mandatory onsite onboarding.
  • Onsite work required for local candidates, Monday through Friday.
