Your impact at MUFG
IT Security and/or IT Service Delivery is responsible for the IT Service Continuity in other words technology resilience of the Bank. IT Service Continuity function manage the technology resilience framework on behalf of MBE in order to ensure systems have the ability to adapt, recover and withstand disruption, thereby ensuring continuous functionality and performance of the business. The function manages, coordinates and monitors the service design, acceptance and on-going performance of the operational environment across the MBE’s IT estate against key metrics, whilst delivering effective Incident Management, Problem Management and ITSCM Activities (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery).
You will mostly focus on architectural design and relevant policies and procedures to make sure that MBE’s systems and technology services are resilient enough to support the business requirements. The role especially focuses on technology continuity, IT disaster recovery for services and products provided by the intragroup and external suppliers. The cloud applications resilience will be assessed and ensured by the role. You will investigate and provide solutions for governance and management information delivery in line with DORA’s requirements, act as a Security and Resilience Architect. You will have a crucial influence on addressing DORA related gaps in corporation with EMEA Technology, the major IT and security service provider of MBE. You will further govern, coordinate and oversee technology resiliency exercises together with EMEA Tec across MBE and MUS EU. You additionally support regional branch resiliency exercises, & coordinate corporate technology support for facilities or branch driven power up/down activities.
The role includes the following:
- Project Management (planning and execution) of Disaster Recovery exercises
- Coordinating technology support for facilities driven activities e.g. power up/down events
- Update & Maintenance of internal system of record to track application DR statuses
- Collaborating with technology pillars to drive individual application DR tests
- Preparing scenarios subject to be DR tested including the KRI and KPI’s
- Maintaining the inventory relations between CIF’s and applications Maintenance / Review of DR documentation
- Ensuring timely creation and submission of management status report related to technology resilience including service management, detailed technology pillar, DR exercises etc.
- Ensure timely creation and submission of management status reports at relevant committees and forums
- Representation of service continuity status at formal forums and relevant committees
- Establishing DR and IT Continuity governance with providing scenario status and remediation reporting within relevant committee’s
- Driving service continuity functional framework & process enhancements in accordance with regulatory (PRA, DORA, etc.) mandates
- Developing and managing engagement / relationships / reporting with regional internal technology and non-technology stakeholders including Operational Resilience, Operational Risk, Audit and Corporate Services
- Developing and managing engagement / relationships / reporting with non-regional stakeholders including Head office and Securities International
- Providing initial contact point for all service continuity activities for junior members of the team
- Support Technical Delivery Managers in planning, execution and maintenance of the service continuity Book of Work and strategic roadmap
- Support relevant teams identifying & developing remediation strategies and/or risks for any gaps in process or functional coverage.
- Conduct Third Party Risk Reviews to ensure MUFG’s resilience requirements are meet.
- Engage with the contract management process representing MUFG to ensure DR and IT continuity requirements are agreed by the 3rd parties.
- Ensure service continuity functional alignment to published policies and processes
- Supporting ad-hoc out of hours work related to service continuity activities e.g. DR tests. Power downs etc.
- Support all Audit, Risk, Control and Outsource activities on behalf of the Service Management group
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
Skills and experience:
- Degree level (preferably Computer Science or similar and/or similar work experience)
- Experience of working in a financial regulated environment
- Sufficient depth technical infrastructure knowledge and experience needed to be able to interpret and provide feedback of DR recovery plan
- Experience and understanding of the principles of what different types of technology do and how they work with each other , such as, but not limited to , networking, Virtual servers , data replication , databases and backup technology.
- IT project management skills and experience
- ITIL Foundation (or above) preferred.
- Experience of working with Legal, Compliance and Risk functions, and senior stakeholders
- Able to demonstrate a broad technical understanding of the infrastructure stack (for example: networking, voice, storage, virtualization, compute platforms [server and desktop], operating systems, data center management, capacity planning, event management etc.)
- Able to lead and constructively participate in white board type design and review sessions
- Able to rapidly evaluate and understand new products within the department’s scope
- A team player, approachable and flexible but also able to work independently
- Drive the building of a service excellence culture, always putting the customer, our people and our business at the center of everything undertaken.
- Experience of ITSM Toolsets including ServiceNow
