ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Cage & Count Operations Manger the incumbent, either personally or through subordinates, is responsible for the collection, sorting, counting and recording of gaming results and the overall operation and maintenance of the Count Roomand currency counting equipment.

  • Count Room Manager provides excellent customer service to employees and vendors in all situations.
  • All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Indiana Grand Racing & Casino policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and Indiana Gaming Regulations.
  • Prepares budgets for count departments as well as works with internal and external auditors as necessary.
  • Ensures that all regulatory reporting requirements are met for federal and state agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED is required as well as two to three (2-3) years supervising money room or count room; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening. Experience with a computerized casino/hospitality software system, currency counting equipment and 10-key adding machine preferred.
  • Must possess ability to handle non-standard situations where some judgment is required.
  • Must possess the ability to operate computer and software programs.
  • Must be able to effectively supervise subordinates. Must be able to interact effectively with other departments and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older and be able to obtain an Indiana Gaming and Horse Racing License(s).
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills. Be available to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Also required are frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and sitting.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Is responsible for the direction and coordination of Count Room employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

RISK MANAGEMENT

– will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such a way as to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/court challenges. Ensures that all company, department or division activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. This includes but is not limited to adherence to Human Resource, safety and workers’ compensation policies and procedures.

SENSITIVE KEY ACCESS

This position has access to the sensitive keys for the count room, slot machine belly door keys, Bill Validator Drop box compartment keys, BVA contents keys, and Bill Validator Collection Cart.

ACCESS TO GAMING FLOOR

Requires access to the gaming floor.
