Job Description

The Licensing Specialist manages and facilitates all aspects of the licensing process for traveling clinicians and executive leadership. Supports program leadership with STAT & DART reporting and analytics. Provide support and function as a reference point for licensing questions in the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate the state licensing process for all STAT, DART, Executive, and Mutual Aid requests, including application preparation, submission, maintenance, renewals, and status reporting.
  • Monitor and communicate the process and changes pertaining to state licensing applications, regulations, eligibility, renewal, and deactivation practices.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of state processes to create and maintain licensing process tip sheets for clinicians and the credentialing team.
  • Responsible for researching and advising on how state processes will impact license timelines.
  • Partner with Credentialing, Provider Enrollment, Risk Management, and Legal to validate and supplement application content.
  • Assemble and maintain medical malpractice and/or legal history for STAT physicians.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive chronologies for all members of the traveling clinician program(s).
  • Responsible for auditing financial reports related to licensing costs.
  • Implement creative solutions to efficiently move the licensure process forward and develop alternate pathways for complex applications.
  • Effectively prepare and disseminate all communications with a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Respond to internal and external correspondence calls. Evaluate requests, identify issues, and determine appropriate sources for resolution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of a broad scope of credentialing & medical licensing functions, with emphasis on state board regulations preferred.
  • Ability to exhibit a commitment to teamwork, supporting alignment with company and department goals and objectives, assisting others to develop their knowledge of the company and department, and adapting to changes in a positive manner.
  • Ability to meet department standards for tracking and reporting process timelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce extremely accurate work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and escalate emerging issues to management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be highly organized and prioritize job tasks and requirements.

  • Demonstrated history working in a clinical/physician service environment.
  • Ability to effectively use oral and written communication skills with clinicians, external agencies, and management in a courteous and professional manner. Must have knowledge of correct English, proper grammar, and spelling.
  • Knowledge and skills in using personal computers (Windows) with intermediate/advanced skills with Microsoft Office Programs- Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds. 
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform the job.

Hourly Rate: $21.59 - $39.94

Hourly rate may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
