Job description

Job Title: IT Security Lead

Location: Remote

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Chief Information Officer

Job Overview

The IT Security Lead will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s IT security and network infrastructure strategy. This role requires a proactive high-energy leader who can identify potential security risks, manage security incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The IT Security Lead will work closely with other departments to integrate security measures into all aspects of the company’s operations, with a strong emphasis on driving value to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Monitor and remediate security incidents, providing timely and effective responses.
  • Manage and own the network infrastructure, ensuring its security, reliability, and performance.
  • Manage the administration of all security systems and their associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (ie NIST and SOC 2).
  • Provide training and awareness programs to staff on IT security best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Lead and mentor IT personnel and outsourced teams (SOC/MDR and NOC)
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and functional leaders across the organization.
  • Drive value to the business by aligning security initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
  • Document and maintain security and network tools, processes, and diagrams

Qualifications And Skills

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and/or security management
    • Relevant certifications a plus (eg CISSP, CISM, etc)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in managing and supporting complex IT infrastructures, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms.
    • Experience with cybersecurity principles and practices: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover
    • Expertise in security posture gap analysis, prioritization, and project management
    • Proficiency in Azure infrastructure is a plus
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
    • Apply Agile and ITIL framework principles and processes to solve problems
