Test and Evaluation Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer to support Department of Homeland Security - Science and Technology (DHS-S&T). You will lead, plan, and conduct tests on programs to include counter - UAS, aviation sensors & communication systems and Maritime Domain awareness. This position supports remote work with travel to test sites within the continental United States.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for planning, overseeing, and conducting tests on DHS programs to include counter - UAS, aviation sensors & communication systems and Maritime Domain awareness systems. This position supports remote work with travel to test sites within the continental United States.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• You will conduct testiing support, as directed by the Government Program Manager that may include:
• Test planning assistance.
• Range coordination, execution, data collection and technical analysis.
• Post-test reporting, documentation.
• Draft briefings to the Government Program Manager of test results of ground and flight tests and evaluations of aircraft and aircraft systems and sensors.
• When required, the Contractor shall be available to assist with interagency test and evaluation, and technical coordination on projects within DHS.
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience supporting DoD or Federal-Civil Agencies in aircraft flight operations, acquisition or test and evaluation (T&E).
• Extensive manned or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations experience.
• Familiarity with aircraft test and operations.
• Familiarity with aircraft payloads, sensors, and subsystems.
• Familiarity with UAS flight rules and regulations.
• Project management or leadership experience.
  
  

Desired Requirements

• Specific experience in UAS, small UAS and/or Counter-UAS test experience.
• Counter-UAS test experience.
• sUAS and/or UAS operations experience.
• FAA commercial pilots licenses with instrument rating or equivalent.
• sUAS Part 107 license.
• Sensor technologies; EO-IR, RF.
• Marine Domain Awareness operations and/or mission systems experience.
• Experience working with DHS S&T, DHS CPB-AMO, or USG operations or mission systems.
  
  

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Science, or a related degree.
  
  

Desired Certification Requirements

• FAA commercial pilot SEL with instrument rating or DoD equivalent.
  
  

Clearance Requirements

• Current Secret Clearance (Desired).
• Ability to pass DHS Background Investigation
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  
  

Travel Requirements

• Travel to customer test sites and offices within the continental United States - approx.: 25%.
