Role: Senior DevOps Engineer

Cloudstaff is looking for an exceptional Cloud Solution Engineer for their cloud services team. You will be actively involved in the architecture and creation of a technical roadmap of effort to create a best-in-class cloud platform around the “well architected” concept. Not only will you serve as technical expert but will be involved in mentoring and raising the standard of our cloud services team and ultimately be in a position to provide these services to our customers as well.
This role will play a key role in moving our organization forward in the cloud well as being front and center in the selection of products and services to make this a reality both for now and into the future.
Responsibilities:
- Design the architecture for hosting applications on AWS based on customer needs
- Setup, deploy and manage applications on AWS
- Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline application deployment.
- Oversee containerization projects using Docker, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Manage Kubernetes cluster configurations, deployments, and scaling using kubectl.
- Architect and optimize AWS infrastructure, including VPCs, security measures, and API gateways.
- Automate repetitive tasks using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or shell/Python scripts.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish DevOps best practices within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure goals with development needs.
- Innovate and suggest improvements for system performance, resilience, and scalability.
- Innovate and actively look for improvements in overall infrastructure
Qualifications and Requirements
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services, including CloudFormation, CloudFront, and IAM policies.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, or Jenkins.
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems and networking (including Windows Networking).
- Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to lead teams in dynamic environments.
Good to have:
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Splunk, NewRelic, or DataDog.
- Experience in handling multi-project environments and large-scale systems.
- Knowledge of programming languages and database management.
- Prior experience managing client communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on experience with advanced security and performance optimization techniques.
