Job description

The Lactation Network is seeking a Contract Email Developer for a 3-month engagement, approximately 20 hours per week.

As a Contract Email Developer, you will be responsible for creating custom, high-quality email templates using HTML, CSS, and Liquid Logic, ensuring seamless email experiences for our users. Your attention to detail and expertise in accurately translating complex designs into clean, responsive email code will be key to your success. Candidates must provide specific work samples showcasing well-organized, high-quality HTML files for fully responsive and dynamic email templates.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be responsible for building and executing engaging email campaigns, ensuring responsiveness, and meeting key deliverables.

  • Develop, test, and deploy responsive HTML emails from scratch, ensuring pixel-perfect rendering across all email clients and devices.
  • Build modular, scalable email templates optimized for performance and reusability.
  • Build and execute emails, journeys, and campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Iterable. You’ll partner with the marketing and design teams to translate creative concepts into high-quality, functional email designs.
  • Ensure all emails meet accessibility standards, including ARIA roles, alt text, and optimized color contrast.
  • Troubleshoot rendering issues in email clients like Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail using tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Ensure all email components are accurate and functional, including verifying links, audience segmentation, and send times, while testing for personalization accuracy, responsive design, and proper rendering across devices and email clients.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key email performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversions) to evaluate campaign success, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for optimization.
  • Stay informed about email development trends and advancements to enhance TLN’s communications.

What we need from you:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an email developer or in a similar role.
  • Proven proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Iterable, including creating journeys, dynamic content, and data extensions.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS with a focus on responsive, mobile-first design principles.
  • Expertise in email-specific coding best practices, such as inline styling, table-based layouts, and fallback mechanisms.
  • Experience with email testing and debugging tools like Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as AMPscript or Liquid is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator in a remote work environment.

The hourly rate for this role is $45/hr- $55/hr.
