As the Manager of Growth and Development Pathways, you will be responsible for shaping and leading Gannett’s individual growth initiatives, ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to develop, grow, and unlock their full potential. You will play a key role in embedding a culture of growth across the organization by driving innovative growth strategies, coaching programs, and development tools. Your work will directly support employees' personal and professional growth, helping them become future-ready in a dynamic and evolving work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Program Development: Design, implement, and manage individual growth programs, including a growth coaching programs and career that align with Gannett’s strategic goals.

Culture of Growth: Champion a growth mindset across the organization by embedding growth-focused principles into communications, leadership practices, and organizational culture.

Employee Development Programs: Lead and support development programs such as 360 Assessments, Predictive Index, and other tools to help employees identify growth opportunities and develop clear pathways for advancement.

Manager Coaching & Training: Partner with Leadership Development Manager to equip managers with the tools, training, and resources to hold effective growth and unlock growth opportunities for their teams through work assignments and internal mobility.

Internal Mobility & Success Stories: Capture and showcase internal mobility stories and gather diverse success stories from employees to inspire and engage others on their growth journey.

Career Pathway Clarity: Develop and communicate clear career development options to employees, including pathways for individual contributors, leadership, and people management roles.

Program Evolution: Scale and refine mentoring and onboarding programs such as L.A.U.N.C.H. designed to acclimate new employees, E.X.C.E.L. professional development program, and Early Career Employee Connections to drive a culture of growth and belonging.

Employee Experience & Feedback: Regularly gather feedback from employees and managers to continuously refine growth initiatives, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Collaboration: Work closely with HRBPs, learning and development teams, and business leaders to align growth initiatives with company-wide objectives, fostering a unified culture of continuous development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, or a related field, or preferred. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in talent development or coaching are a plus. Equivalent work experience accepted.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development, organizational development, or related fields with a focus on employee growth, coaching, or career development.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing growth and development programs, with an emphasis on fostering a growth mindset and internal mobility.
  • Strong understanding of assessment tools (e.g., Predictive Index, 360 Assessments) and experience leveraging them to support employee growth.
  • Experience in coaching managers and employees on personal development, career conversations, and growth strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with different departments, including HRBPs, Learning & Development, and Communications.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing employee feedback to improve program effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with mentoring programs and employee onboarding processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

2025 Key Initiatives

  • Define Growth: Collaborate with leadership to define what "growth" means at Gannett, translating this vision into actionable goals for employees.
  • Embed Growth into Communications: Help leaders and managers integrate growth-focused messaging and practices into everyday work.
  • Create Time for Development: Advocate for time and space dedicated to employee development, helping to foster habits that support ongoing learning.
  • 360 Assessments for Growth: Develop and refine the use of 360 assessments for both individual and group development.
  • Internal Mobility Stories: Capture and promote success stories from employees who have advanced within the company to inspire others.
  • Onboarding and Mentoring Programs: Support and enhance mentoring programs like Early Tenured Employee Connections and Early Career Employee Connections, integrating them with Gannett’s onboarding processes.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $80,000 and $100,000.  Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
