Senior Manager, Distributed Partnerships
USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a Senior Manager, Distributed Partnerships to report to the Exec. Director, Enterprise and Distributed Partnerships who will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day management, ongoing promotional and editorial activities and business development of licensing partners as part of the Distributed Partnerships business.
Over the last 5 years, Gannett has made significant inroads establishing partnerships with key content portals, social platforms and industry leaders.We are one of the largest news and sports syndicators through our USA TODAY and sports enthusiast brands and our local newspapers have informed communities across the U.S. for decades. To preserve and grow that legacy, our archive licensing business works with Libraries, Educational Institutions, Legal and other industries to distribute decades of archival and current news content from our 260+ local markets.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic partnerships professional with a strong content licensing, distribution, and partner management background, an understanding of editorial workflows and content curation, as well as a desire to work within a fast-paced, high-growth distribution and partnerships business unit.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii or based at our headquarters in Manhattan, NY or our Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities
- Manage delivery requirements across licensing partners who receive content.
- Work closely with counterparts to ensure partners are receiving content in appropriate format and at correct cadence.
- Partner with newsrooms to curate, pitch and promote their content to partners.
- Ensure regular communication with partners to stay up-to-date on performance and optimization/growth opportunities.
- Manage ongoing performance and revenue metrics for assigned partners.
- Provide regular analysis and insights to the Distributed Partnership team leaders in order to support programming and business decisions.
- Assist in the business development of new and existing partnerships by identifying new opportunities and providing business modeling support.
- Work directly with partners to gain an understanding of best practices on how to build audiences and grow engagement.
- Support day-to-day partner marketing and promotional initiatives to drive awareness, acquisition, and engagement.
- Work with team to ensure partner oversight, deal fulfillment, and business strategy is properly executed.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of competitive marketplace and provide team with regular briefings.
- Ability to digest and comprehend long and complex partner contracts and maintain detailed knowledge of deal terms, expirations and renewal timelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a digital partnerships, sales, business development or business analyst role.
- Comprehensive understanding of monetization opportunities related to licensing and distribution.
- Editorial experience with an understanding of content creation and curation.
- Experience working with multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Experience compiling and benchmarking data from multiple third-party sources.
- Experience negotiating and comprehending complex contracts.
- Experience supporting partner-facing executives.
- Strategic thinker, self-starter, and creative problem solver.
- Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent communicator in written and verbal form.
- Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $90,000 and $100,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
