Position Overview: 

The Technical Sales Support Manager will be responsible for providing technical, automation and pre-sales support for the Hunter Douglas Architectural brand.  This role will work closely with the Technical Operations team and Regional Sales Managers to support project planning services and create detailed documentation for the program offering.  This role will support initiatives around the Company’s Strategic Automation Growth Plan. This will support the Technical Services Manager, including developing and improving technical motorization documentation.  The position will focus on technical sales support for both the commercial and retail dealers.  The Technical Sales Service Manager will also assist in departmental support and will fulfill duties assigned by sales management and/or department designee. 

What you'll do 

  • Works directly with Technical Sales Manager to identify areas of improvement in current product offering and documentation. 
  • Provides project and sales support including areas of problem solving, technical planning, and construction document creation 
  • Supports the Regional Sales Team and both commercial and retail dealers in key project planning 
  • Stays current with industry standards and working knowledge of Hunter Douglas Architectural products and services to be subject matter expert for department 
  • Supports and plans internal and external training sessions on current HD Architectural products and offerings 
  • Provide information and direction to the dealer (retail & commercial) regarding Hunter Douglas Architectural products, tools, and services in order to retain use of Hunter Douglas products 
  • Perform onsite jobsite visits to address product, automation, and Installation concerns. 
  • Support department with product launches/changes as subject matter expert through training and material creation and management 
  • Provides technical project management support including communication with project stakeholders, product quotes, and processes live orders when needed 
  • Work alongside Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Inside Sales Team and Key Accounts Specialists to support and provide hand-off on projects from pre-sales activities to order activities 
  • Provides support to dealers including providing project updates and maintaining communication via multiple communication channels including email, telephone, and in person meetings 
  • Identifies and analyzes processing issues related to project including project status, backorder notification, production delays, and alternative product resolutions in partnership with plants 
  • Provide assistance to dealers and internal staff with technical product and project issues 
  • Prepare and provide training to Dealers, Technical staff and Customer Service on projects 
  • All other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management. 

Who you are 

  • 5 years of combined related experience in commercial technical service and project management 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 2 years minimum of customer service experience   
  • 1 year minimum of project management experience 
  • Project Management Certificate preferred but not required 
  • Strong execution and analytical abilities 
  • Strong organizational abilities 
  • Understand and update AutoCAD drawings 
  • Understand and create CSI specifications 
  • Experience with systems like SAP and Salesforce preferred 
  • Ability to travel a must. 
  • Clean driving record. 
  • Multi-tasking abilities essential.
