We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Discovery Paralegal with a strong background in California employment law. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience responding to California employment discovery requests and a proven track record of managing sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. This role is ideal for a professional who is not currently affiliated with a defense firm and is trustworthy, organized, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review documents and prepare comprehensive responses to California employment discovery requests, including objections where appropriate.
• Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including:
  • Responding to California Form Interrogatories General and Employment.
  • Handling California Special Interrogatories, Requests for Production of Documents, and Requests for Admission.
• Organize, bate stamp, and cross-reference documents in responses to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with attorneys to identify and apply the appropriate objections to specific discovery requests.
• Utilize legal technology and tools, including AI platforms such as Briefpoint.com, to draft and refine responses efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Experience: Direct experience responding to California employment discovery requests.
• Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law discovery procedures and best practices.
• Familiarity with organizing and managing large volumes of documents, including applying bate stamps and referencing them in responses.
• Excellent research, writing, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in legal drafting tools and willingness to learn AI-assisted drafting platforms.
